While stress is a normal part of any guy’s life, giving in to stress is not the ideal response of a man who has the goals of living a healthy physical, emotional, social, and spiritual life.

The interesting part? The cause of stress may come from within or from external forces.

How stress affects a person may vary from one person to another.

One guy may be capable of handling stress more effectively than the other workers in his company. Does this make him some sort of superhero?

No.

We all have different tolerances, and one thing is for certain: regardless of tolerance, the presence of too much stress on a person may cause health to deteriorate.

With stress that is improperly managed, the person may experience physical health problems ranging from fatigue to immune system-related issues and even internal organ problems.

The individual may also have problems in handling his or her emotions that personal relationships will be affected.

How to manage stress more effectively

There are many ways on how to manage and reduce stress and its negative impact. Some men deploy a rigorous workout routine. Others may seek counsel by way of a psychologist or psychiatrist. Others still may schedule regular treatment from a bodywork practitioner. The options are endless.

You short answer is, you don’t have to stick to a cut-out stress management plan since what may suit other people might not be the best for others. The ways in which we react to stress vary from one man to the next, so it stands to reason that the ways we deal with stress vary too.

Here are just some of the activities that you can include in your stress management program.

Avoid the source of stress: Learning to say “no” to people and situations that cause you so much stress can help in leading a more relaxed life.

Change the situation: If you find it really necessary to get into stressful situations, you can take steps to alter the situation to make it less stressful for you.

Engage in activities that will lift your spirits: Play some games with your kids or your pets. Take a stroll in the park, or learn a new craft. Enroll in a gym or yoga class so that you can get fit. Listen to relaxing music from time to time.

These are just some of the things that you can add to your daily activities to help combat stress.
